Words That May or May Not Help
Hi. I'm awfully sorry you're feeling discouraged or hopeless. For whatever reason you're feeling that way, I sincerely hope you'll find words of encouragement and hope here because you deserve them. No matter what anyone says, including yourself, you're of infinite value and significance and deserve peace, happiness and meaning in your life.
If you have thoughts, feelings and behaviors which have kept you bound in fear, anger, sadness, or feelings of worthlessness, these words probably won't give you the encouragement or hope you're looking for.
You certainly may read them, in case they will. skip
World-renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson recommends Hope Channel, and psychologists, counselors and coaches recommend humor as a vital tool for dealing with stress.
''A well-developed sense of humor is the pole that adds balance to your steps as you walk the tightrope of life.'' - William Arthur Ward | skip
''Humor is another of the soul's weapons in the fight for self-preservation. It is well known that humor more than anything else in the human makeup, can afford an aloofness and an ability to rise above any situation, even if only for a few seconds.'' - Holocaust Survivor Viktor Frankl
No matter what your age or situation is, if you're teachable, your stressed-out, unsatisfying or shattered life is fixable!
But those aren't the only reasons you'll want to get your life fixed. Stress created by developmental conditions, inequality, bad habits, trauma and suppressed and toxic emotions is dangerous to our, our children's and our grandchildren's health.
''If you do not give to yourself, you will always hold others at emotional gunpoint.'' - David White
''If we do not know our familial history, we are most likely to repeat it.'' - John Bradshaw
''It is true that we do not or cannot change what we do not know about ourselves. And we cannot alter history. But because the human brain is plastic and changeable, we are repairable.'' - Drs. Ron and Nancy Rockey
Why not commit to processing and recovering from those emotions and learning how to build healthy relationships, if not for yourself or even your children or your sibling's or friend's children, if you are or will be helping to raise them, why not do it for your or your friend's grandchildren?
Are you yearning for a better life? Then I encourage you to check out the spiritual or biblical section below. But if the secular section is more your style, or even if it isn't, I highly recommend getting the book by Dr. David Burns, ''Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy - The Clinically Proven Drug-free Treatment for [Mild] Depression[, Discouragement and Unhappiness].'' (cognitive behavioral therapy and how to apply it)
(''The ten forms of cognitive distortion cause many, if not all, of your depressed states...When you become familiar with these ten forms of distortion, you will benefit from this knowledge all your life.'' - Dr. David Burns in ''Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy'')
I also encourage you to check out the other revolutionary mind self therapy books by peak mental performance expert Dr. Neil Nedley and brain plasticity expert Michael Merzenich.
Another book I encourage you to also check out is real horse whisperer Monty Roberts' book ''Horse Sense for People: Using the Gentle Wisdom of Join-Up to Enrich Our Relationships at Home and at Work'' in which he ''demonstrates how trust, respect and communication - not coercion - are the keys to fruitful relationships.''
In raising his three children and 47 foster children, most of whom came to him as troubled teens, Monty applied and taught them principles he learned from the natural behavior and language of wild horses and his gentle Join-Up technique.

Biblical Words of Encouragement That May or May Not Help
If you believe God exists, aren't angry at Him and think of Him in a positive way, or want to, or want to learn about Him and how much He loves you and cares about you, here are some quotes from the Bible and a favorite writer of mine that I hope will give you the encouragement and hope you're looking for and a new outlook on life.
If you are angry at God, think of Him in a negative way or have thoughts, feelings and behaviors which have kept you bound in fear, anger, sadness, or feelings of worthlessness, as I said earlier, these words probably won't give you much, if any, encouragement or hope.
Again, you certainly may read them, in case they will, but if they don't, don't worry. Remember, there's still hope! If you're teachable, your stressed-out, unsatisfying or shattered life is fixable! How? With one of the following.

Attend or buy ''Binding the Wounds'' or ''The Journey,'' the lifelong, research-based, Bible-supported recovery program by internationally-respected counselors Drs. Ron and Nancy Rockey. (learn more)
If you have a negative view of God, the Bible and Christianity, you're probably saying to yourself, ''How can the Bible help me recover, when it has caused so much misery in this world?''
Or ''Why would God care whether I recover or not, when he's vengeful and tyrannical, making people burn in Hell for eternity (Does the Bible say that? The Twisted Message About Hell Untangled), letting children and babies die or deal with lifelong complications from hunger or abuse, and allowing so many people to die in the Holocaust, the tsunami and other natural disasters, the Hutu/Tutsi massacre, the AIDS epidemic and other diseases, and so many wars and terrorist attacks like 9/11?''
If you are, you're not alone. Many others have asked such questions, and gotten frustrated with people's answers which have failed to satisfy their longing for healing and happiness, and for an accepting, forgiving and caring God.
But through research-based, Bible-supported therapy, careful, prayerful study of the previous list of resources on the good news of God's character, and love, support, forgiveness, prayer, perseverance and determination, satisfying answers to tough questions about God can be found and the cycle of dysfunctional behavior can be broken!
The Rockeys' research-based, Bible-supported recovery program really can allow your emotional wounds to heal, and make your life happy, satisfying and meaningful. You have nothing to lose. Why not take a minute to learn more?
