We apply and for over 100 years have been teaching the guidelines of this message, which among other things includes a vegetarian or preferably (especially these days) vegan diet, not in order to earn righteousness or salvation, nor merely because some verses in the Bible seem to support it...
...but also because we believe, and scientific research has confirmed, that the choices we make regarding nutrition, exercise, sleep, entertainment, hobbies, friends, etc., have a very significant effect on our physical and emotional health, and thus on our quality of life, and especially, we also believe, as a result of their effect on our bodies and minds, on our spiritual health.
Such a significant effect, in fact, that making bad choices about these things could cause us to lose interest in God to such an extent that it would result in our losing out on eternal life. This, along with the opportunity for true, lasting happiness in this life, is why we work to educate others about physical and emotional health.

Perhaps one of the most maligned and misunderstood of our beliefs, the investigative judgement, which is very good news for faithful (unhypocritical) believers, is believed by many Christians to have been created to explain away the Great Disappointment in 1844, that it's unbiblical, that it's based on the writings of one of our three founders, and that it turns righteousness by faith into a form of righteousness by works.
Again, quite the contrary. When seen in the light of the earthly sanctuary, which God gave the Israelites and Jews and the rest of us to reveal the workings of the heavenly sanctuary, we can see that Jesus is indeed following the same pattern of ministration in our behalf, in the heavenly sanctuary, that the Israelite and Jewish priests did in the earthly sanctuary, to deal justly and mercifully with our sins.
We can also see that rather than turning righteousness by faith into a form of righteousness by works, it instead confirms righteousness by faith.
But most importantly, we can see from Bible prophecy that it's part of the first of Jesus' three last-day warnings to His people.
