What way has God provided for us to secure eternal life?

God loved the world so much that He gave us His only Son to die the second death in our place, so that whoever believes in Him may not die the second death and cease to exist for eternity, missing out on all that God has planned for us, but live forever in infinitely blissful happiness!

Why did Jesus have to die the second death to save us? Why couldn't God just forgive us? Because when Adam and Eve sinned, we all inherited their morally weakened nature and character, making us completely unable to keep God's laws, in action, thought and feeling, no matter how hard we might try.

And only someone who had a perfect nature, while being both 100% devine and 100% human, could obey God's laws perfectly in our place, in those three ways.

Another reason God couldn't just forgive us is because He's just, and must enforce His laws to preserve happiness in the world and the universe. So there's a penalty, a price to be paid, for breaking God's laws, just as there is for breaking our laws. And the lawbreaker has to pay it. This Jesus did in our place, as us.

So why is the second death, complete separation from God, which for sinners results in eternal death, the penalty for breaking God's laws? Because being just and merciful, God can't allow sin and sinners to exist forever.

Why then did Jesus say He's the only way to eternal life? Because He's the only one who 1) lived, as all humanity, the sinless life required by God's laws, 2) died the second death and paid our penalty, not as our vicarious substitute, but as our actual substitute, 3) conquered death and is alive again,...

...and because as a result of these, He's the only one who 4) can forgive our sins, replace our sinful nature, character and lives with His sinless one, save us from eternal death and give us eternal life.

God didn't send His Son to the world to condemn us, but to forgive us and to save us from missing out on an eternity of blissful happiness. God doesn't want us to miss out!

What can we look forward to?

Jesus said, ''Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.''

We can't even begin to imagine what an unbelieveably happy life God has in store for us, completely free of the pain, sorrow and misery sin has caused us in this life - for the rest of eternity! Nor can we imagine what amazingly beautiful places heaven and the new earth will be! skip

Don't you want to do all you can, all you need to do, to make sure you don't miss out on that blissful, everlasting life with God and your loved ones?

How can we manage to lose out on eternal life?
(followed by how we can live a happy, meaningful life and secure eternal life)
